About the role

Are you looking to lead the growth of ESG and sustainability services in an innovative, digitally enabled, purpose-driven business? Are you motivated to support customers to achieve business success and sustainability in their businesses and their extended supply chains?

Our UK-based team in London comprises over 30 members, works with many of the world’s leading companies and top brands and has extensive experience across all sectors, with a focus on consumer goods; extractives; utilities; manufacturing; and financial services.

We are seeking a Principal Consultant with Assurance experience – (ISAE3000/ ISAE3410/ AA1000), who will lead and expand our sales and delivery of sustainability services. Expertise in one or more areas is essential: supply chain, strategy, sustainable finance, or climate change.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role to win, lead and develop our work on a wide range of sustainability services, primarily focused on sustainability report assurance; ESG and sustainable finance; supply chain sustainability; sustainability strategy and climate change consulting.

You will also have the opportunity to play an important role in the development of others within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service Leadership:
    • Lead the development and execution of sustainability services, specialising in:
      • Sustainability report assurance.
      • Sustainable finance consulting.
      • Digital assurance, including digitally enabled supply chain transparency solutions.
      • Supply chain sustainability and risk management.
      • Climate change.
      • Sustainability and ESG strategy.

You will be expected to lead project teams as well as help to grow our business through the following activities:
  • Proactively seeking to identify customer needs, developing tailored solutions, and selling these to new and existing clients.
  • Directing projects, ensuring they are executed to clients’ expectations, on time, on budget and to DNV quality standards.
  • Leading and communicating effectively with your project teams and clients.
  • Introducing services from your own/existing discipline(s) to new clients and new services to existing clients.
  • Writing thought leadership for the team to be published internally and externally and speaking publicly to generate the correct profile and market engagement in the UK region.

  • A minimum of six years of assurance related experience.
  • A professional auditing qualification would be advantageous.
  • Proven track record in sales and business development of ESG & sustainability services within a consultancy environment.
  • Proven track record of leading & delivering consulting services as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the domain of ESG/sustainability.
  • Academic qualifications relevant to sustainability subject areas.
  • Proven project and/or team leader, delivering service excellence.
  • Able to clearly delegate tasks and provide sufficient guidance, support and feedback on performance to Senior Consultants and Consultants.
  • Able to line manage Senior Consultants and provide coaching and development.
  • Willingness to travel and work around the UK and on occasions overseas.
